Mr. William “Bill” Lupton Constantine, Jr.
Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mr. William “Bill” Lupton Constantine, Jr., age 82 will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Byrne and Pastor Jeff Erbskorn officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church Columbarium at a later date with military honors.
Mr. Constantine was a native of Flushing New York and had made Aiken County his home for the past 15 years. He was the Husband of 40 years to Mrs. Leila Elsa Andersen Constantine of Aiken and the son of the late Mr. William Lupton Constantine, Sr. and the late Mrs. Florence Raymond Constantine. Mr. Constantine was a retired Engineer with R.F. Harris Communications, Rochester, NY . He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University, Hackensack, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering. Mr. Constantine was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Navy stationed on the USS Salem. The USS Salem is now retired and at port in Quincy, MA as a museum. He also served on the USS Columbus and was in the CB’s. Mr. Constantine was a member of the American Legion Post # 494 in Macedon, NY, the Disabled American Veterans chapter 43, Aiken, The Mended Hearts, Inc. chapter 294, Aiken, and the Pairs and Spares Senior Adult Club, Aiken. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Aiken.
Additional survivors include three sons, William Lupton Constantine, III, Pittsburg, PA, Philip (Jannine) Meszler, Spring Branch, TX, Michael Karl Meszler, Crestview, FL; three daughters, Sandra G. Constantine, Spartanburg, Marie L. (Harvey) Gunter, Aiken, Elizabeth A. (James) Hilker, Ithaca, NY; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Mr. Constantine was predeceased by one son Thomas J. Meszler, one daughter, Deborah Constantine, and one brother, Raymond F. Constantine.
In lieu of flowers the family as suggests that memorials be made to The Mended Hearts, Inc. chapter 294, c/o Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Att. Eric Muhlbaier 302 University Parkway, Aiken, SC, 29802.
