William Oliver Wisser, Jr.
Warrenville, SC — Mr. William “Bill” Oliver Wisser, Jr., age 79, entered into rest on the morning of April 3, 2025, at Anchor Post Acute Care. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Mrs. Judith Platter Wisser and the son of the late Mr. William Oliver Wisser, Sr. and the late Mrs. Charlotte Jens Wisser. Mr. Wisser was born in Hempstead, Long Island, NY, and grew up in the Northwestern Lehigh School District in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. He and his wife made Warrenville, SC, their home for the past three years.
Mr. Wisser was trained as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and later in the Army Reserves. He applied his skills in a 45-year career as a lift truck mechanic, working on the road with Modern Group Ltd. in Allentown, PA; National Lift Truck and Wrenn-Brungart (now Barloworld Ltd.) in Florida; and Alta Equipment Group in Thompsonville, Michigan, where he eventually retired with his wife. His hobbies included golf, NASCAR, sightseeing, gardening, and traveling.
Surviving family members include two sons, Jason William Wisser of Milton, PA, and Christopher Robert Parsons of Uniontown, PA; two daughters, Julie Ann Thomas of Charlotte, NC, and Tracy Marie Parsons of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, David Wisser of Allentown, PA, and John Wisser of Slatington, PA; one sister, Karen Mulholland of Reading, PA; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wisser was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Wisser and Betsy Wisser.
Celebrations of his life will be held privately among family and friends.
