Mrs. Wilda Ward Dew
Montmorenci—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Wilda Ward Dew age 72 will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church Montmorenci with Rev. Wako Cotney and Rev. Rick West officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. Mrs. Dew will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Dew was a native of Nakina, NC and had made Aiken County her home for the past 49 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Jim T. Dew, Sr., and a daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Ward, and the late Mrs. Carrie Long Ward. Mrs. Dew was employed by the R.E. Phelon Plant in Aiken and retired there with 20 years of service. She served as a poll worker at the voting booths during election time and worked at the Masters for 10 years. Mrs. Dew attended the Carolina Jamboree in Belvedere very often and there she not only enjoyed the music but made lasting friendships with many people. She was an active member First Baptist Church Montmorenci where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, the choir and taught 4th,5th, and 6th grade Sunday School, was on the hostess committee, and was a member of the WMU. Mrs. Dew was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Montmorenci Fire Department.
Survivors include one son, Jim Thomas (Donna) Dew, Jr., Belton, TX; three daughters, Wanda Dew (Tim) Fulmer, Windsor, SC, Barbara Dew (Lucky) Johnson, Montmorenci, SC, Rita G. Dew (Ken Kaltman), Delray Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Mrs. Dew was also predeceased by one daughter, Sherlyn Juanita Dew, three brothers, Worth Ward, Waymon Ward, Jack Ward, and one sister, Pearl Bellville.
Mrs. Dew was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be truly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Joey Cordell, Timmy Fulmer, Ken Kaltman, Shane Bellville, and Lucky Johnson.
The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to Hospice Care of South Carolina for the compassionate care that was given to their mother.
