Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Josh Richardson, Jarrett Cartin, Dawson Culp, Hunter Britton, Hugh Luke, and Dennis Cartin. Mrs. Virginia Ruth Joye, age 88, entered into rest on December 20, 2024 at her home. She was born in Aiken, SC to the late Mr. Jesse Hood and the late Mrs. Essie Lee Key. She was a member of Grace Covenant Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling to the mountains, cruising, but most importantly she loved reading the Bible. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Survivors include: One daughter, Cynthia (Darrell) Cartin, Aiken; one brother James (Harriett) Owens; one sister Diane Turner; two grandchildren, Jarrett Cartin (Charlotte Day) and Joye (Josh) Richardson; four great grandchildren, Whitten Taylor Greene, Addison Cartin, Lauryn Richardson, and Layla Cartin; one granddaughter-in-law Jessica Cartin; and her step daughter Tonya Rearden, Aiken.
