Ms. Vikki Shere Johnson Choate

Beech Island, SC—Ms. Vikki Shere Johnson Choate, age 64, entered into rest on Wednesday February 8, 2023. Ms. Choate was born in Port Lavaca, TX, and then made her lifelong home in Aiken, SC. She was the beloved daughter to the late Mr. Robert Johnson and the late Mrs. Dolly Summer Johnson. Ms. Choate was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Montmorenci. She had worked at Kimberly Clark and the Graniteville Company for 20 years. Ms. Choate was also the owner and operator of Ms. Vikki’s Pet Care Beech Island, SC for 20 years. The family would like to express their thanks to all her customers that supported her in her business. Survivors include: her partner Charles Young, Beech Island; two sons Taniel (Tonya) Barton, Evans, and Kenny (Jamie Paul) Barton, Aiken; two brothers Lindy Lott, Aiken, and Lucky (Barbara) Johnson, Montmorenci; three sisters Nancy (Hack) McClure, Beech Island, Mitzi Nichols, Beech Island, and Mary Annie (Fred) Weinbeck, Couchton; and four grandchildren Devon Wilson, Anslee Barton, Laydon Barton, and Lawton Holbrooks. Ms. Choate was preceded in death by her late husband Mr. David Choate and two brothers Jerry Lott and Timmy Johnson. A visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday February 15, 2023 from 6-8 pm at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175. A private burial with the family will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church of Montmorenci cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the SPCA Albrecht Center 199 Willow Run Aiken, SC 29801 or Equine Rescue of Aiken 532 Glenwood Dr. Aiken, SC 29803.
