Mr. Truman C. Summer
Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mr. Truman C. Summer age 84 will be held 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Rev. Marion Britton, Rev. Randy Ouzts, and Rev. Ronald Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery.
Mr. Summer entered into rest Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of 65 years to Mrs. Miriam Rearden Summer and a son of the late Mr. James Clarence Summer and the late Mrs. Annie Timmerman Summer. Mr. Summer retired in 1989 from E.I. Dupont at the Savannah River Plant with 40 years of service. As a devoted Christian, he was an active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon was a member of the Earl Gregory Sunday School Class. Truman had a hobbie in Fixing Bicycles and giving them away. Truman was an avid golfer and fisherman, a wonderful and loving husband, father and dodaddy. He will be truly missed by his family and the multitude of friends he had made throughout the years.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Dianne Moseley, Aiken, Terri (Patrick) Kinney, Aiken, Sheilah (Steve) Derrick, Chapin, Kimberley (Stephen) Cain, Aiken; two brothers, Clyde Summer, Aiken, Irvin Summer, Aiken; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Mr. Summer was predeceased by two sisters, Dolly Johnson, and Millie Hubbs.
Pallbearers will be Travis Scott, Brandon Foster, Jerrad McIntosh, Tony Hunt, Jr., Darin Moseley, Conner Greene, Bradley Smith, and Mark Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Scott, Rylee McIntosh.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church 2150 Columbia Hwy, Aiken, SC 29805.
