Mrs. Shirley “Jewel” Higgenbottom Nash
Aiken, SC--A celebration of life service for Mrs. Shirley "Jewel" Higgenbottom Nash, 81 of Aiken, SC, will be held 5:00 pm Friday October 12, 218 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.H. Bryant Officiating. Interment will be held privately. Mrs. Nash entered into rest Tuesday October 9, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Mr. David Franklin and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Winnie Higgenbottom. Jewel loved cooking, baking and gardening. More than anything, she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was retired after ten years service as an assembly line worker at Therm-a-disc. Jewel was also a member of the former Vaucluse Church of God in Vaucluse, SC. Additional survivors include: one daughter Judy Nash Taylor, Aiken; five sons Billy Wayne Nash, Edgefield, Jeffery Allen Nash, Aiken, Johnny Ray Nash, Aiken, Norman Franklin, FL, and Kenny Franklin, North Augusta; one brother Danny Higgenbottom, TX; two sisters Jane Schibik, New Ellenton and Claudean Rushton, Pelion; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother Jimmy Higgenbottom and three sisters Addie Bryant, Jean Thomas, and Debbie Holley. The family would like to express gratitude toward Hospice Care of South Carolina.
