Mrs. Rose Marie Bowmer Brown

Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Rose Marie Bowmer Brown age 85 will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating.   Interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Brown was a native of Bethel Park PA, and had made Aiken her home for the past 36 years coming from  Trenton, Michigan.   She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Mr. George W. Brown and daughter of the late Mr. Gay Bowmer and the late Mrs. Mildred Lang Bowmer.   Mrs. Brown was a very active in the Sweet Adelaide’s  singing soprano while living in Michigan from 1968-1974.  After she moved to Aiken, Mrs. Brown became very involved with the Red Cross, knitting blankets and with ACTS in Aiken.  Mrs. Brown was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, Jeff (Karen) Brown, Aiken; one daughter Donna Brown, Aiken; two grandchildren, Carl Brown, and Kaitlyn (Aaron) Marchant.  Mrs. Brown was predeceased by one brother, Gerald Bowmer, and two sisters, Thelma Lytle, Phyllis Bratcher.
