Roger was born March 8, 1938 into a loving Jewish home, located in Washington, DC. He was
the third son of Benjamin and Minnie Salen and younger brother to Raymond and Ronald Salen.
Over his long and blessed life he had many professional successes as a lawyer, real estate

accomplishments were the friendships he built and nurtured over many decades from
schoolyard chums at Alice Deale Elementary, to friends at Wilson High School (Jackson-Reed
High) , The Bullis School and the University of Maryland where he was a member of Tau Epsilon
Phi fraternity. Business associates and partners, along with family and friends will remember his
fierce loyalty, sophisticated taste in clothing, his gentlemanly manner and his moral code. At
Roger's core, was his steadfast love, kindness and courtesy he demonstrated to all those he
knew.
Roger enjoyed sailing, deep sea diving, skiing and especially golf which brought he and wife
Karen to retire in Aiken , SC in 2017. In addition to his hobbies he generously donated to
favorite charities with his resources and time. In his memory donations may be made to:
