Salley, SC--A graveside service for Mr. Robert Warren Newell age 65 will be held 1:00 pm Saturday November 27, 2021 at Aiken Memorial Park with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Team.  Mr. Newell entered into rest Sunday November 21, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was a native of Lincoln, Rhode Island and had made Aiken County his home for the past 40 years.  Mr. Newell was the beloved husband of 38 years to Mrs. Lori Ferguson Newell and a son of the late Mr. Elisha Newell and the late Mrs. Shirley King Newell.  Mr. Newell retired after 25 years of service with Precision Machine  as a Master Machinist. He was a veteran in  U.S. Navy and enjoyed fishing ,camping, and was an avid Clemson football Tiger fan. Additional survivors include two sons, Robert Joseph Newell and Christopher Elisha Newell both of Salley; two brothers, Thomas Elisha Newell, Cumberland, Rhode Island, John David Newell, Lincoln, Rhode Island; two sisters, Linda (Raymond) Boulet, Lincoln, Rhode Island, Barbara (Kevin) Plante, Cumberland, Rhode Island; his mother-in-law, Jean Ferguson, two brother-in-laws, Wilbur (Agnes) Ferguson, and Charles Edward Ferguson, both of Salley. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that memorials be made Mended Hearts Chapter 294 of Aiken County, mendedhearts.org/donate/. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday November 26, 2021 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
