Mr. Ransom Eugene "Gene" Baughman
Aiken, SC—A graveside service will be held at 3:00 Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Holsenback Cemetery in Aiken, SC. Mr. Ransom Eugene "Gene" Baughman, age 82, entered into rest at his home on February 22, 2024. He was born in Aiken, SC to the late Mr. Joe Baughman and the late Mrs. Eula Mae Chaflinch Baughman. He was married to the late Alice Day Baughman and the late Mrs. Judy Trent Baughman. He worked at Carbonic Industries in Augusta for 15 years and retired in 1997. He also was a truck driver for 45 years. Mr. Baughman enjoyed golfing, small motors, sports, and was an avid Gamecock fan. Survivors include: two sons, Ronald (Marsha) Baughman, Aiken, SC and Melvin (Lois) Baughman, Aiken; two daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Hadden, Aiken, SC and Allison (Duane) Gantt, Aiken; three brothers, Norman Baughman, Donnie Baughman, and Wayne Baughman, Aiken, SC; three stepsons, Chuck Dowden, Scott Trent, Richard McCants, from Great Falls; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Shupe, Dee Faile, Theresa Johnson, from Great Falls; four sisters, Jeanette Widener, Elgin, SC, Eyvonne Benson, Warrenville, Lois Kelly, Aiken, and Wanda Tucker, Aiken; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Baughman was predeceased by one brother Denzal Baughman; two sisters Evelyn Miano and Pearlie Herron; and two grandchildren, Linda Faye Baughman and Danielle Baughman. Pallbearers are Timothy Baughman, Ron Baughman, Ransom Baughman, Zach Newsome, Tyler Lucas, and Ricky Dubose. A visitation will be held following the service at the cemetery.
