Mr. Paul L. "Pee Wee" Quattlebaum
Aiken—Mr. Paul L."Pee Wee" Quattlebaum, age 86, entered into rest Sunday January 24, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Mrs. Geneva Smith Quattlebaum and the son of the late Mr. Hiram Quattlebaum and the late Mrs. Jimmie Eppie Boatwright Quattlebaum. Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Rocky Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Tiedman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Quattlebaum will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm.
Mr. Quattlebaum was a native of Aiken County, SC, and was a life long resident of Aiken County. He was retired from Thermo-Disc/Automatic Switch Co after 12 years of service. Mr. Quattlebaum worked 35 plus years in Heating and Air for Browns Heating and Air and Tommy Taylor Heating and Air. Mr. Quattlebaum was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. He loved to farm and raise cattle in his younger days.
Survivors include: one step-son Parnell (Melvis) Barfield, Augusta, GA; two daughters Vernell (Haskell) Goodwin, Aiken, and Irene Bush, Aiken; one daughter-in-law, Susie Barfield, Aiken, who he loved as his own; eleven grandchildren Vernon Barfield, Diane Daniell, Charlotte Barfield, Teresa Fleckenstein, Jeri Johnson, Donnie Shumpert, Cherie Cook, Chester Thomas, and Pamela Moody; fourteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. Mr. Quattlebaum was preceded in death by: one step-son Lance Barfield; one step-daughter Mary Ellen Johnson; two brothers Elmer and O’Neal Quattlebaum; one sister Naomi Clark; and four grand children Sandra Waters, Brenda Porter, Janet Fogel, and Stephen Thomas.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews: Matthew Sturkie, Bryson Cook, Jeri Johnson, Gary Cook, Martin Gunter, Melvin Gunter, and Jimmy Green.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Rocky Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 224 Wagener, SC 29164. A visitation with the family will take place the night before at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
