Aiken, SC—Entered into rest March 6, 2023.  Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Viola Holmes Jones, age 82, was the beloved wife of the late Mr. William A. Jones Jr.  She was born in Aiken, SC to the late Mr. Odell Holmes, and the late Mrs. Addie Mae Knight Holmes. Mrs. Jones was a mental therapist in the state of New York, where she resided until she returned back to Aiken, SC.  She was a Jehovah’s witness and attended the Kingdom Hall on Croft Mill Rd.  She loved to play bingo, go thrift shopping, and antiquing.  She also loved to crochet and read, and she loved music, dancing, and singing.  Mrs. Jones enjoyed life, and loved to say “I did whatever I wanted to do.”  Survivors include two sons, William A. Jones III, Aiken, Edwardo (Lesa Sample) Jones, Myrtle Beach; one daughter, Tiara (Barney Lee)  Livingston, Aiken; five grandchildren, Sedina Pope, Danielle Greene, Zakiya Livingston, Brittany Jones, Jondone Sample; five great grandchildren, Marquelle Pope, Javen Sample, Breezy Mae Sample, Za’Lee Livingston, and Zahaa Livingston; one adopted son, Robert Woolman, Aiken; and two sisters Onell Kimble, Jacksonville, FL and Maddie Denise Wimberly, Aiken.
