Mr. Kyle Floyd Edgington

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Kyle Floyd Edgington, age 86, will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday October 9, 2024, at Clear Water Branch Baptist Church, Aiken with Pastor Tim Smart and Pastor David Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force. Mr. Edgington entered into rest on Thursday September 26, 2024, at Charlie Norwood VAMC. He was the beloved husband to the late Mrs. Carolyn Patricia Ogletree Edgington as well as the late Mrs. Barbara Jean Galloway Edgington and a son to the late Mr. Floyd Edgington and the late Mrs. Vivian Edgington. Mr. Edgington was a native of Mason City, IA, and had made the Aiken area his home since 1958. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Clear Water Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Edgington had served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He had worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 38 years, retiring in 1997. Mr. Edgington had also worked as an engineer and opened two plants, one in Saudi Arabia and one in South Korea. He was also a long-haul truck driver for 10 years. In 1985, Mr. Edgington had graduated from USC Aiken. He was a faithful member of the Gideon's International Aiken North Camp. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, working on old trucks and watching the South Carolina Gamecocks. He will be missed by his friends and family. Survivors include: one daughter Heather (Douglas) Hayes, Aiken; one brother Harold (Eileen) Edgington, Omaha, NB; one sister Deloris Olsen, Mason City, IA; one son-in-law Tracy Price, Aiken; 3 grandchildren Ashley (Cara) Price, Arron (Emily) Price, and Shayn (Heather) Price; and 4 great grandchildren Cheyenne, Jace, Callie, and Emmett. Mr. Edgington was preceded in death by one daughter Kathryn Michelle Price. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Gideons International Aiken North Camp https://www.gideons.org/donate and the and the Andrew Swamidoss Fund.
