Mr. Jerry Knox Love
Aiken--A Celebration of life service for Mr. Jerry Knox Love, age 84 will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick West and Rev. Steve Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville with Military Honors accorded by the U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Team. Mr. Love entered into rest peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, September 29, 2017 at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living, Aiken. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Mrs. Dorinda Simmons Cato Love and a son of the late Mr. Clyde M. Love Sr. and the late Mrs. Roxie Knox Love.
Mr. Love was born in Florala, AL and had made Aiken County his home since 1972. He developed a passion for photography at a young age, and established his business, LOVE PHOTOS, once he settled in Aiken. For over 30 years, he captured picture memories from many weddings and special events. Mr. Love had a 10 year tenure with Smith Corona Marchant in Augusta, GA. He also retired with 25 years of service from K-Mart, where he was well known in the camera department in the Aiken and North Augusta stores.
Mr. Love was an active member of First Baptist Church of Montmorenci, where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, and taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Aiken AFM # 156.
Additional survivors include one son, Eddie (Sharie) Cato, Lexington, SC; three daughters, Merry Lee (Dean) Golding, Blaine, TN, Sharon Ann Cato, Aiken, Mary Cato (Kevin) Orander, Aiken; two brothers, Glen Love, Greenville, SC, John Ray Love, Alexandria, VA; one sister, Mildred Hinesley, Andalusia, AL; eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Mr. Love was also predeceased by one brother, Clyde Love, Jr., and one grandson, Josh Orander. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org. Pallbearers will be Jared Allen, Calvin Sessions, Matt Church, Kevin Greene, Trey Fender, Kevin Orander, Jr.
