Mr. James Michael Altman
Aiken—Entered into rest Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his residence, Mr. James Michael Altman age 64, beloved husband of 34 years to Mrs. Teresa Tyler Altman and son of the late Mr. Wilbur Altman and the late Mrs. Vivian Altman Altman Fox.
A private graveside service will be held at Southlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Altman was a native of Hemingway, SC and had made Aiken County his home for the past 27 years. He was a security guard for Wackenhut at the Savannah River Site with 10 years of service retiring in 1997. Mr. Altman was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, and was trained in Military Police.
Additional survivors include one son, Jay Michael Altman; five daughters, Sybil Altman, Aiken, Amanda (Jason) Anderson, Aiken, and Jessica Altman, Aiken, Joy Luckhardt, and Kimberly Payne; one brother, Billy Altman, Aiken; six sisters, Harriet Eaddy, Hemingway, Faye Graves, Charleston, Judy Patterson, Timmonsville, Priss Pigate, Timmonsville, Pat Thompson, Hampstead, NC, and Lynn Hickman, Ridgeville; five grandchildren, Angel Haring, Savannah Payne, Tyler and Talan Anderson, and Konnor Altman. Mr. Altman was predeceased by one brother, Richard Altman, and one sister, Sybil Thompson.
The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to Hospice Care of South Carolina for all of their compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the SPCA, Albrecht Center, 199 willow Run Road, Aiken, SC 29801
