Flossie Mae Goodwin Green

Aiken, SC—A graveside service for Flossie Mae Goodwin Green, age 89, will be held at Jessamine Memorial Gardens Saturday December 19, 2020 at 11:00 am. Ms. Green was the beloved daughter of the late Harrison Goodwin Sr. and the late Flossie Counts Goodwin. She was a native of Edgefield, SC, but had made Aiken her home all of her life. Ms. Green was a devoted mother and daughter to her family. She was very willing to help others. Ms. Green was a Jehovah’s Witness and a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall East Congregation on Croft Mill Road. She was baptized December 18, 1959 in Columbia, SC. Ms. Green enjoyed field service, but especially loved public witnessing at the Save-A-Lot parking lot and nursing homes. She was educated in the Aiken County School System. She graduated from Martha Schofield High School on June 3, 1952 and received certificates from Aiken Technical College. Ms. Green’s hobbies included gardening flowers, vegetables, and fruits as well as sewing. She worked at Reigel Diaper Plant for 16 years. After retiring from the plant, she became a substitute teacher where she served the Aiken County schools for 9 years. Survivors include: two daughters Flo E. Green (Columbia) and Sylvia T. Robinson (Columbia); one brother Robert Goodwin (Aiken); two grandchildren Teresa M. Robinson and Freddie D. Robinson Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by one son Norman F. Green; one brother Harrison Goodwin Jr.; four sisters Lona Mae Goodwin Murray, Lillie Bell Goodwin Caldwell, Helen Goodwin Fields, and Pearl Goodwin Johnson; and one grandson Terrance R. Robinson.
