Donald Gene Davidson

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Donald Gene Davidson, age 86, will be held 1:00 pm Saturday July 16, 2022 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Brinkley officiating. Mr. Davidson entered into rest Wednesday July 6, 2022 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Lucille Hall Davidson and the son of the late Mr. Frank Davidson and the late Mrs. Essie Mae Preston Davidson. Mr. Davidson was a Vallcreek, WV native, and had made the Aiken area his home since 1968. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Good Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Davidson started work at E.I. DuPont de Nemours at the Savannah River Plant where he stayed for 44 years retiring in 2000 as a radiation control inspector at Savannah River Site. His hobbies included music and fishing. Additional survivors include: three sons Donald G. (Kimberly) Davidson, Jr., Warrenville, Jacob Davidson, New Ellenton, and Charles A. Johnson, Jr. Jackson; four daughters Sandra Wade, Warrenville, Lynette Goad, Warrenville, Lydia (Kylie) Bell, Waynesboro, GA, and Melissa Jones, Jackson; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by: four brothers Arthur Davidson, John Davidson, Elza Davidson, and Thomas Davidson; and one sister Dorothy Mae Nelson. The family suggests that donations be made to Good Hope Baptist Church 2118 Silver Bluff Rd, Aiken, SC 29803 and Central Baptist Church 1652 Wire Rd, Aiken, SC 29805.
