Wagener, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Connie Sue Harms, age 55, will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 13, 2024 at the Aiken County Shrine Club event center 1526 Columbia Hwy N., Aiken, SC, 29801. Connie entered into rest on December 7, 2023 at her residence in New Bern, NC, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Streator, Illinois, to Mr. Randall Hobbs and Mrs. Debra Bridgeforth Hobbs, New Bern, NC. She was the beloved wife to Mrs. Jane Cole Wells. She worked for Tri-Development in Aiken for over 18 years as RSP-Direct Care, RSM-House Manager over two programs, CTH1 Program for direct care and recreational activities, and Pruitt ESLP1-Direct Care. Mrs. Harms was a member of the Rocky Swamp American Indian Ministry, in Springfield, SC, for 20 years. She was a Salt Creek Sun Dancer at the Hoosier National Forest in Indianna. Due to her Native American heritage, she embraced the Native American ways and traditions. Connie’s Native American name was “Little Buffalo.” Mrs. Connie Sue Harms loved the Miami Dolphins football team, Eeyore, dolphins, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include one son, Keith (Michelle) Harms, Windsor, SC; one step-son James (Lee Fulmer) Wells, Manhattan, NY; three grandchildren, Anthony Ray Harms, Jessie Hayes, and Sydney Hayes; one sister, Tanya (Brynn) Harms, New Bern, NC; her paternal grandmother, Gloria Hobbs, Dwight, IL; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Samuel Ray and Esther Bridgeforth; paternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” Hobbs, and her brother, William Hobbs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org, Tri- Development at aikentdc.org, and the American Cancer Society cancer.org.
