Mrs. Betty Phillips

Batesburg, SC—A celebration of life service for Ms. Betty Ann Duncan Phillips, age 73, will be held Friday 2:00 pm October 21, 2022, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Ms. Phillips entered into rest on Friday October 14, 2022, at her residence. She was the beloved companion of Mr. Bobby Elgin and the daughter of the late Mr. Louis Duncan and the late Mrs. Juanita Gosnell Duncan. Ms. Phillips was a native and lifelong resident of the Aiken area. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Batesburg. Her hobbies included sewing, cross word puzzles and music. Survivors include: one son Donald Ellis Mizell, Batesburg; one daughter Kim Sawyer, Aiken; one sister Kathleen Kelsey, North Augusta; four grandchildren Taylor Sawyer, Savannah Sawyer, Brittany Rourk, and China Mizell; and six great grandchildren. Ms. Phillips was preceded in death by: three brothers Daniel, Jerry, and Robert Duncan; one sister, Kathleen Kelsey, North Augusta. Ms. Phillips was predeceased by three sisters, Janice Tager, Margaret Mitchum, and Mary Ann Bowers, and one grandchild Tyler Rourk. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to service at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
