Mrs. Bearnice Virtee Wilson West Plunkett
Aiken, SC-- A celebration of life service for Mrs. Bearnice Virtee Wilson West Plunkett, age 94 will be held 2:30 pm Monday December 4, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, Graniteville, SC with the Rev. Dr. George Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott Family Cemetery on Hatchaway Bridge Road, Aiken County, SC. Pallbearers will be Todd Moore, Glenn Nichols, Jeff Jenik, Michael Kule, Jake Hiller, Ronnie Parker. Honorary pallbearer will be Lynn McDaniel. Mrs. Plunkett, entered into rest Wednesday November 29, 2023 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Fred Plunkett and a daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Wilson and the late Mrs. Lena Mae Crook Wilson. Mrs. Plunkett retired in 1996 from Graniteville Company then went to Miracle Ear at Sears in Aiken with 10 years of service as a Clerk. Mrs. Plunkett was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 79 years. Ms. Virtee's Christian beliefs were very strong, and she will be sorely missed by her church family, and will be remembered for being a sweet, tough, and at times a stubborn lady. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, baking, flower arranging, and being a caregiver, and taking care of her fur baby Sam. Survivors include a granddaughter, Erin (Glenn) Nichols, Beech Island; a grandson, Scottie (Gabby) West, Grovetown, GA; one brother, Rev. Charles Wilson, Aiken; one sister, Everlee Medlock, Graniteville; two step sons, Todd (Angela) Moore, Aiken, Freddie (Terri) Plunkett, Aiken; two step daughters, Rosemary Plunkett Busbee, Aiken, Patricia Plunkett Williams, Aiken; a special niece, Sherri Jenik, Aiken; a daughter-in-law, Martha West, Windsor; fourteen grandchildren, Erin, Scottie, Bryson, Jodi, Toni, Chelsea, Misty, Shelly, Heather, Emily, Everett, Jim, Lewis, and Wesley; eighteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Plunkett was predeceased by her son Reggie West, three brothers, James Davis, Clarence Wilson, Leonard Wilson, two sisters, Mattie Coleman, Francis Rhoden, and one step sister Inez Widener. In lieu of flowers memorials has been suggested to be made to Calvary Baptist Church P.O. Box 96, Graniteville, SC 29829. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 till time of the service at Calvary Baptist Church 194 Ascauga Lake Rd Graniteville, SC 29829.
