Annie Rose Wingate Lewallen

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Annie Rose Wingate Lewallen, age 84, will be held 2:00 PM Friday October 1, 2021 at Grace Covenant Church of God with Rev. Edgar N. Foster, Sr. and Rev. David L. Holdman officiating. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery. Mrs. Lewallen was the beloved wife of 62 years to Mr. Jessie Millard Lewallen and the daughter of the late Mr. Veron Edwin Wingate and the late Mrs. Oletha Mae Daniels Wingate. She was a native of Greenville, NC, but had made Aiken County her home since 1972. Mrs. Lewallen worked at Gary’s Hamburger on Whiskey Rd as the biscuit maker for two years. She was the manager for eight years at the Wingate Veteran’s Home on 278 in New Ellenton. Mrs. Lewallen was a faithful member of Grace Covenant Church of God, where she was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class, Intercessory Prayer Group, and the Senior Citizens Group. She was formerly a Sunday school teacher at Souls Harvest Church of God in Jackson. Her hobbies included making floral arrangements, cooking, and going to church.  Additional survivors include: one brother Michael Wingate, Greenville, NC; one sister, Ellen Parker, Aiken; one grandson Dustin Lewallen, Jellico, TN; and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Lewallen was preceded in death by:  one son Charles Jessie Lewallen and one brother Edwin Earl Wingate. Pallbearers will be Steve Meador, Bobby Meador, Lee Smith, Bryson Johnson, Charles Matthews, and Wayne Dawse. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sanctuary Sunday School Class of Grace Covenant Church of God. A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to service at Grace Covenant Church of God.
