Mrs. Anna Lee Edwards McAlpin

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Anna Lee Edwards McAlpin age 102 will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday August 31, 2022 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Dewayne Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci Cemetery.  Mrs. McAlpin was the wife of the late Mr. Joseph Vernon McAlpin and a daughter of the late Mr. Ellsworth Edwards and the late Mrs. Anna Laura Glover Edwards.  She was a native of Dunbar, West Virginia and had made Aiken County her home for the past 23 years. Mrs. McAlpin was a writer of poetry books, and her work was published.  She was the oldest member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Aiken.  Survivors include two sons, James L. (Mary Lou) Siders, Aiken, Robert L. (Vivian) Siders, Aiken; one daughter, Laura Ann (Robert) Ferguson, , VA; a daughter-in-law Susan McAlpin, Evansville, IN;  ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. McAlpin was predeceased by one son Mr. Michael McAlpin, and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. McAlpin was the last sibling living out of 13 siblings.  Serving as pallbearers will be the Deacons of Solid Rock Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family would like for memorials be made to Solid Rock Baptist Church Building Fund, 3079 Old Powderhouse Road, Aiken, SC, 29803. The family will be receiving friends one hour before services at  the church. Services will be livestreamed on the Cole Funeral Home Facebook Page.
